The Natural Capital Manager will have a key role in setting out our long-term strategy around Natural Capital and nature recovery, and they will work very closely with others in the team to develop the wider environmental strategy in our PR24 Business Plan. They will also support engagement with our Regulators (Ofwat, EA, Defra, CCWater) and stakeholders (local councils, NGO), in matters relating to the environment. Mission: Leave the environment in a sustainable and measurably improved state and Deliver a net gain in Natural Capital. The role: Development and delivery of our strategic approach to natural capital, nature recovery, biodiversity/environmental net gain. Support the business to put the environment (including natural capital) at the core of what we do. Support delivery against regulatory requirements in WRMP, Price Review processes, and during AMP cycles. Actively engage internally across the business and externally with regulators, stakeholders, Water UK, NGO, and public bodies to shape future industry approaches to natural capital and nature recovery. Support thought leadership within Affinity Water, developing regular blog posts and webinars, and contribute to discussions in the industry through conferences, events, and publications. Lead the development and implementation of our Natural Capital Strategy and action plan. Experience required: Educated to degree level in a relevant Economics or Environmental discipline. Policy and technical knowledge in biodiversity, natural capital, and nature recovery. Experience of strategy development and implementation. Evidence of creative thought leadership and influencing direction of travel of an organisation. Benefits Include: Competitive salary dependent on experience. Company car entitlement £4,300 per year.
