Project Development Director THE ROLE Climate Impact Partners, a leading provider of high-quality carbon credit programmes, is looking for a Nature Based Solutions Technical Manager to join our Project Development team. The role is focused on due diligence and development of Nature Based Solutions (NBS) projects internationally under recognised voluntary carbon standards. NBS is an increasingly important part of our business, and we are expanding our technical project development capability as client demand for NBS projects grows. You will be part of a high calibre, international NBS technical team and will work closely with experienced NBS Commercial Managers and Carbon Project Delivery colleagues preparing Project Design Documents and supporting the validation process. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead carbon asset development for our projects, working closely with local partners, completing or overseeing the preparation of Project Design Documentation and monitoring plans through to validation. Provide peer review of PDDs and carbon models within the expert NBS Technical team. Provide ongoing oversight of the technical carbon and monitoring aspects of selected operational development projects to ensure performance, delivery and reporting. Lead the due diligence of projects from which Climate Impact Partners is sourcing carbon credits, presenting to the senior Due Diligence Committee. Support the due diligence process for clients and investors, contributing to understanding and mitigation of project risk. Contribute to the development of best practice in carbon modelling, project design and monitoring protocols across our portfolio. Keep up to date with changes in voluntary carbon standards, assessing implications for Climate Impact Partners’ projects. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Prepared to constructively challenge project partners to ensure that project design assumptions and project information are credible and robust. Strong attention to detail and able to identify what is most important to address; proven understanding of project risks. Able to communicate clearly and concisely to a range of audiences. Strong collaborative attitude combined with a willingness to work with a high degree of autonomy. Can manage competing priorities. Sets high standards for ethical behaviour. Comfortable with making pragmatic recommendations with the best available information. Language skills would be an asset (including Spanish). Willing to travel internationally to project sites.
