About the role
In this role you will have the opportunity to deliver finance, contract and corporate functions for a whole organisation. As the Finance Manager, you will manage and oversee the organisation’s financial processes, management and reporting. In addition, you will provide contract management and advice. You will also be responsible for meeting organisational needs and supporting our Operational and Divisional Directors through the provision of corporate administration to the Executive and the Management Board. Furthermore, you will ensure the effective delivery of our corporate support functions including sustainability, corporate social responsibility, HSE, Infosec, etc.
The NCEO is a distributed research centre with over 150 scientists from universities and research organisations across the UK, providing the Government’s long-term strategic research in environmental science using data from satellites in space.
About you
This role is ideal for an existing financial manager looking to broaden their experience in the research sector. You will have experience in organisational financial management and reporting, along with proficiency in scrutinising and producing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts. You will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Strong planning and organisational skills, flexibility, and adaptability are crucial to success in this role. The ability to manage whole organisational activities is key, ensuring collaborators, students, stakeholders, both internally and externally are considered. Experience in contract management is key, alongside knowledge of CSR, EDI, Sustainability, HSE and Infosec.
