We are currently recruiting for a Level 2 NDT Engineer to support one of our customers contributing to their assembly and testing of world-class aerospace components. You will ensure quality standards are met across a range of aerospace manufacturing, assembly and testing activities. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. for Sub-contract labour, but a Staff position is available for the right candidate. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our client and will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in delivering the targeted outputs to support the product. The NDT Engineer will report directly to the Programme Delivery Leader (PDL) and their role will involve them being based at one of the Client's sites. Working within the ME team in our AeroBusiness Unit, successful candidates will join our experienced team, working on varied projects in high-tech and future-oriented industries, taking on exciting and responsible tasks according to your skills and knowledge, thus expanding your existing know-how. Responsibilities

As part of the NDT team, your responsibilities will involve: Upon receipt of engineering drawings of new components, provide initial commentary on suitable NDT inspections methods and any limitations that might arise (based on available suite of methods and techniques operated in-house). Discussion with Level 3 re applicability of NDT methods to confirm the customer's preferred approach. Advise on NDT method validation approach, including design of test specimens. Assist the customer's other Level 2 personnel in conducting validation exercises and comment on results of validation exercise – refinement as required. Assist in compiling an inspection technique for approval by Level 3, including design of calibration/reference standards, equipment protocols, qualification, training, etc. Produce detailed inspection reports and raise Occurrence/Non-Conformance as required. Support Engineering and Quality teams on NDT-related topics. Complete inspections with adherence to quality and schedule. Work order sign-offs and prompt reporting of anomalies or deviations. Qualifications

Engineering degree, or equivalent, with proven practical Engineering & manufacturing knowledge and experience. Candidates without accredited qualifications will be considered depending upon experience. Essential skills

Ultrasonic Testing (UT) - Contact and immersion methods: A, B and C scan. Bond Testing (BT). Infrared Thermography Testing. Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications. Proactive ‘Team Player’ with a focus on delivery and quality who can work and act autonomously. Excellent communication skills. Good written and verbal communication skills and the capability of making sound technical judgements and appropriate decisions. Assertiveness, independent, structured way of working and the ability to find oneself in a multicultural working environment. Desired skills

Eddy current Testing (ET) - Static and dynamic phase analysis methods. Experience

Experience of Ultrasonic NDT Processes and standards. Several years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment. Aerospace experience preferable but other industry sectors will be considered. Proactive Team Player with a focus on delivery and quality. Good communicator who is professional during interactions with both internal and external stakeholders. Benefits
