Neonatal Networks were formed following recommendations from the Department of Health in 2003 and their objective is to ensure that babies and their families receive high quality care which is equitable and accessible for all. Neonatal Networks are the key central point for clinicians and nursing staff to communicate and collaborate. Main duties of the job

The role of the Network Care Coordinator is to work with nursing and medical staff in the neonatal units across the East Midlands region to support and monitor the implementation of Family Integrated Care. The individual will also work alongside the EMNODN units supporting their journey towards achieving UNICEF-UK’s Neonatal Baby Friendly Standards, and Bliss’ Baby Charter standards. The post holder must be a registered nurse or midwife, educated to, or working towards, degree level. Recent neonatal experience is essential, alongside a demonstrable passion for Family Integrated Care. Experience of leadership and management, including developing, implementing and managing change within neonatal services, is desirable. A full current driving licence is required as the role involves travelling between neonatal units across the East Midlands. Person specification

Education, training and qualification

Current first level NMC registration as a nurse/midwife Educated to / working towards 1st Degree in nursing or other health related topic. Master’s degree or ability/commitment to undertake a health care related higher degree (MA/MSc) and complete within 4-5 years Qualified in Specialty - recognised qualification in neonatal care, e.g. ENB 405 or equivalent OR similar appropriate professional experience Minimum of two years recent neonatal experience Minimum of two-year recent experience at a Band 6 level or above OR similar appropriate senior professional experience Demonstrable knowledge of Developmental Care/Family Centred/Family Integrated Care Experience in parental support Evidence of commitment to teaching staff/students/parents Leadership course/module or recognised qualification Experience of leading/developing family centred care Teaching and assessing qualification, e.g. ENB 998/997 or equivalent Knowledge and experience

Good knowledge of current neonatal nursing practice and professional nursing issues or associated professional attributes Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of practice development and evidence based practice Evidence of specific work with parents and families Teaching, mentoring and assessing experience Evidence of up to date skills and is clinically competent in current role Experience in developing, implementing and managing change Skills

Project Management Skills Clear and concise presentation skills including PowerPoint Ability to produce written reports Ability to work unsupervised/independently Ability to implement and effect change Able to demonstrate good multidisciplinary team working Key Competencies/Personal Qualities and Attributes

Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and maintenance of a Personal, Professional Profile Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
