Network Engineer

to support the development, transition, and in-service running (including capability upgrades) of data centre hosted IT application and infrastructure solutions providing support to a critical operational end user. You will apply

Network Engineering

expertise and knowledge across a variety of data centre, wide area, storage area, and campus networking technologies: routing (dynamic protocols), switching, load balancing, and firewalls. Your experience will help you become a technical specialist and process owner with our operations support services, including service improvement and adding further value to our service offerings. You will contribute to the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation ( HLDs, LLDs, Work Instructions ) and provide material to support project work or operational support service. You will be responsible for: Providing

skills and producing low-level solution designs as part of the delivery team. Working with delivery teams to implement modern, highly available, scalable

networks

using a range of new and emerging technologies including automation. Inputting into

network

management and acceptance aspects, setting standards, and providing technical expertise to Leidos programme teams. Utilising verification and validation concepts to deliver relevant

network designs . Collaborating with customers on all aspects of

network

management including assurance and integration of infrastructure services to meet the needs of multiple lines of business. Recognising and exploiting business opportunities by leveraging architecture and design best practices. Communicating effectively across organisational, technical, and political boundaries. WHO DO WE NEED? We are looking for someone with excellent organisation, communication, and leadership skills who has: Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of data centre and campus networking technologies: Cisco (routing, switching, firewalls), Palo Alto (Next Gen firewalls), F5 (global and local load balancing), encryption. Strong understanding of routing protocols (static and dynamic) in data centre, campus, and wide area networks. Experience operating high availability data centre networks supporting critical workloads on Windows, Linux, and SAN. Experience with monitoring and management tools including Solarwinds, FMC, Panorama. Good general knowledge of Windows Server Environments (including OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP, and GPO) and Linux (RHEL) data centre server infrastructures. Good general knowledge of Microsoft Stack technologies such as MS SQL, MS System Centre. Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge and experience of working in Agile or Scaled Agile delivery teams.
