We are looking for a skilled and proactive

Network Engineer

to join our team, bridging the gap between junior-level support and senior leadership in managing our network infrastructure. In this role, you will design, configure, and maintain network systems, ensuring high levels of performance, security, and scalability. The ideal candidate will take ownership of their tasks, be eager to collaborate with team members, and demonstrate a commitment to self-development and operational excellence. Location:

Midlands (Must be within an hour's travel of both Burton-on-Trent and Nuneaton) Responsibilities

Network Design and Configuration:

Support the design and deployment of networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN) using Cisco, Meraki, Teltonika, Ubiquiti, and other networking technologies. System Maintenance and Optimization:

Manage system configurations and software installations to enhance network performance and stability. Contribute to process improvements for IT operations. Incident and Problem Resolution:

Troubleshoot and resolve a range of network issues. Actively engage in root cause analysis to prevent recurring incidents. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation using tools like Netbox. Share knowledge within the team to avoid single points of failure. Security and Compliance:

Apply best practices for security and compliance in all network tasks. Proactively identify and address potential security issues in collaboration with the security team. Stakeholder Collaboration:

Communicate progress and challenges to both technical and non-technical audiences. Build relationships with key stakeholders influencing network operations and security. Automation and Innovation:

Suggest and implement innovative approaches to improve network efficiency, including the use of Ansible for automating repetitive tasks. Data-Driven Decisions:

Identify gaps in necessary data, assist the team in gathering it, and validate decisions through group discussions. Key Requirements

Technical Expertise:

Strong understanding of network technologies, including Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, Teltonika, Ubiquiti, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure). Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:

Ability to address complex issues and contribute to long-term solutions through proactive engagement. Security Awareness:

Solid understanding of network security protocols and compliance standards, with a focus on implementing secure configurations. Collaboration and Communication:

Strong team player who values feedback, engages in knowledge sharing, and communicates effectively with stakeholders. Documentation and Process Improvement:

Experience maintaining documentation and suggesting improvements to streamline IT operations. Automation Skills:

Familiarity with tools like Ansible for automating network configurations and processes is a plus. Qualifications

Relevant experience as a Network Engineer or a similar role. Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies, including switches, routers, and wireless APs. Certifications such as

CCNA

or equivalent are required;

CCNP

is beneficial. Familiarity with monitoring and management tools such as

SolarWinds ,

Netbox , and

ThousandEyes

is a plus. Proven ability to take ownership of tasks, work independently, and contribute to a team's success. Additional Requirements

On-Call Rotation:

This role includes participation in an on-call rotation to support network operations. Travel Flexibility:

Ability to travel to Nuneaton and Burton On Trent as required, with ad hoc visits to other locations, including potential visits to stores across the UK, ROI, and BeNeLux. Travel is demand-led, mostly to meet with the team. What we offer
