Requirements: We require candidates to have a valid UK driving licence and the flexibility to work outside normal hours if necessary. Additionally, you should be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) before starting the role, with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) if necessary after joining. You'll need to demonstrate a good understanding of the technologies used in IP systems, surveillance, RF Transmission, and both hardware and software development. Your technical skills should cover network devices, protocols, security, troubleshooting, and monitoring. A problem-solving mindset and a team-oriented attitude are essential, and you should always be eager to learn and develop your skills.

Your responsibilities: In your role as a Network Integration Engineer, you will assist in the development and support of innovative IP network solutions to meet the needs of front-line policing operations. This includes demonstrating a flexible approach to work, occasionally outside normal office hours. You will be expected to work in challenging environments and to keep all project, service, and design-related materials accurate and up to date. You’ll be accountable for your responsibilities and should focus on your own self-development and effectiveness. Good communication skills, both written and orally, are vital, especially when providing technical support. Driving Metropolitan Police vehicles and integrating within a team environment is key. Other reasonable duties may be assigned by line management as well.

We offer a starting salary of £43,227, which includes allowances totalling £2,841. Your salary comprises a basic salary of £40,386, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale of £45,615, along with a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000. This role is based in Bromley, Newlands Park. You will work both in the workshop and out in the field, directly supporting officers every day. As part of the Operational Support Unit (OSU), you will help maintain efficient networks and deploy short-term network extensions throughout London, often in various locations like rooftops or inside vehicles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage with technology that plays a crucial role in protecting the capital's safety.
