The Platform Technology area is looking to recruit a Domain Lead for the Network Security Platform Team. Network Security is a developing area for Admiral's Platform Services area as they diversify into new technologies. The successful candidate will provide both technical leadership and pastoral care for a growing team that will play an important part in Admiral's security strategy, working alongside other Domain Leads in Platform Services.

It is expected that the individual comes from a highly technical background in network security and is a cyber security specialist, evangelist, and advocate. The Domain Lead is responsible for leading their team to deliver superior technical outcomes whilst continuing to develop their own technical skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for the Network Security and to wider teams Line management duties for Technical Leads and Engineers with a view to focusing on coaching and mentoring techniques that align to both agile principles and Admiral values Collaborate with Platform Services technical leadership team and wider teams to understand demand and resource requirements Accountable for maintaining and facilitating team level resource plans, forecasts future resource requirements, working with the Service Owner, Technical Lead, and Scrum Master to agree future resourcing strategies Develop and drive the platform to support Admiral's strategic aims Ensure platforms are secure, continuously compliant, and maintained to meet Group Minimum Standards Own and be accountable for KPIs/OKRs for the team and maximize the team's ability to deliver these Lead the Network Security function and mentor and inspire engineers Drive collaboration and a continuous improvement mindset across the team Embed productivity, quality, transparency, and openness as core values Manage the career development for the Network Security function

Establish a clear career structure for engineers with career levels, competencies, and salary bands defined Develop training plans to support career development Champion "extracurricular" activities to further develop engineering excellence and position Admiral as a technology employer of choice

Own and manage risks, issues, and dependencies at team level Development and monitoring of key performance indicators. Manage budgeting, forecasts, and plans for growth Identify, track, remove, and escalate impediments and blockers at team level to maintain both pace and flow of value Develop a happy and talented team ensuring that the culture within the department reflects the four pillars of "Communication, Equality, Reward and Recognition and Fun" Inspire employees and act as a role model for the behaviors that encourage a high standard of product delivery

Essential Skills/Experience Experienced leader able to lead calmly through periods of high pressure whilst inspiring people and teams to achieve excellence and grow their skills Knowledge and experience operating within enterprise scale network technology Knowledge and experience (5yrs+) operating within:

Network switching and routing Cyber threat analysis and kill chain Next Generation Firewalls, preferably Palo Alto Application Delivery Controller, preferably F5 Big-IP Web Application Firewalls WAF/WAAP platforms DevOps tools and methods, including automation

Knowledge and experience with line management through both coaching and mentoring techniques Experience operating within heavily regulated environments including external regulated consumer products and service offerings Knowledge of identification and management of specific engineering, design, and testing standards and practices that comply with internal organization IT governance and architectural standards within a heavily regulated environment Knowledge and experience with design & development of cloud resources at scale Extensive knowledge and experience with 3rd party service providers including facilitation of RFP, onboarding, and performance management (design of SLA and overall KPI) Experience and awareness of IT architectural governance, standards, and methodology Experience and awareness of CISO governance frameworks, standards, controls, and auditing documentation covering both business and technology solutions currently within product backlogs Extensive experience with project management fundamentals with the ability to apply principles, tools, and techniques to develop/plan, manage or execute projects to ensure successful completion. Drive, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude

Desirable Qualifications Cyber/security qualifications - CompTIA Security+, SANS, CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc Palo Alto Network Security certification(s) Cisco Networks certification(s)
