We are looking to recruit a dedicated and skilled Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer to rotate between General X-ray, CT and MRI at The Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, in Liverpool. Our Imaging department is very well equipped, with a Siemens Multitom Rax, 3 DR Mobiles, 1 Digital Fluoroscopy/DR Room, 6 Digital Mobile Image Intensifiers, 1 O-arm for neuro-navigation, 2 Toshiba CT Scanners and 5 MRI scanners (including 1 Intra-Operative). Our Radiographers undertake a wide range of imaging examinations through a variety of shifts and on-call. Main duties of the job

To perform a wide range of specialised neuroradiographic procedures and assist with neuroradiological procedures throughout the department, managing workload and prioritising patient examinations where appropriate. To manage effectively the emergency neuroradiographic workload for the trust whilst on call. To contribute effectively to the delivery of an efficient and responsive Neuroradiology service and communicate effectively with all other professions within and external to the Trust and abide by relevant Code of Professional Practice. To ensure that all patient details are correct and recorded on the departments radiology systems and amend as appropriate. To keep accurate and legible written and or electronic records of all examinations undertaken. To participate in Research and Development both within and external to the Trust. To participate in departmental audit activity to include Clinical Governance, Health and Safety, Risk Management and service improvement. To comply with and enforce national regulations and guidelines, including Ionising Radiation Regulations 2017, Ionising Radiation (for Medical Exposure) Regulations 2018, and the Local Rules for Radiation Protection and Magnetic Resonance Safety. Qualifications

BSc Diagnostic Radiography or DCR(R) Post graduate qualifications relevant to Diagnostic Imaging Knowledge & Experience

Radiographic experience across a wide range of modalities and neuroradiographic experience to include MR and CT Able to demonstrate good radiographic technical knowledge Evidence of Continuous Professional Development An understanding of recent developments within the NHS Skills & Attributes

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff Ability to work unsupervised Demonstrate good problem solving skills Demonstrate good organisational skills To be involved with the training of student radiographers, Neuroradiographers and other staff/ visitors Be an effective advocate for patients Must be able to work to short deadlines and have a flexible approach to workload To be able to wear radiation protective clothing To be able to operate and move a full range of radiographic equipment to include mobile C arms, ceiling suspended x-ray tubes and mobile x-ray machines Adhere to and enforce radiation legislation ie IR(ME)R 2018, IRR 2017 Disclosure and Barring Service Check
