Provide evidence-based assessment, treatment and advice to patients with varying neurological conditions such as Traumatic Brain Injury, Parkinson’s Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. Manage and prioritise a complex caseload of patients using specialist knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and collaboration with the MDT to provide a creative, patient centred, goal-orientated rehabilitation programme. Continuously grow and enhance clinical skills by participating in continuous professional development, clinical supervision, education and training, audit and research projects. Mentor and support junior staff and undergraduate Occupational Therapy students through supervision, training and annual appraisal. Contribute to the evaluation and improvement of the neuro rehab service and Occupational Therapy practice within Bromley Healthcare. Person specification
Qualifications
Recognised occupational therapy degree qualification or equivalent. Registered with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC). Member of RCOT. Documented evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Completion of relevant postgraduate neuro training such as cognitive rehab. Evidence of post graduate training/experience in clinical setting. Member of relevant special interest groups or clinical excellence network. Practice Educator training. Evidence of leadership training. Experience
Experience of working in a neuro rehab setting. Experience of working with individuals with long term health conditions. Experience in multidisciplinary and multiagency working. Experience of carrying out or supporting service improvement projects and/or clinical audits. Experience of supervising students and/or junior colleagues. Experience of teaching and supporting students and rehab assistants. Experience of coping appropriately with distressing situations such as dealing with terminally ill patients and their families. Specialist knowledge of OT assessment, treatment and evaluation and how to apply this effectively within neuro rehabilitation. Specialist clinical reasoning skills. Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation and current best practice in OT. Ability to work autonomously and independently manage own time to set own priorities and manage workload effectively. Understanding of all areas of clinical governance including clinical audit. Current UK drivers license/ Car driver with use of own car for work. Specialist knowledge of OT role within a community setting. Group facilitation and presentation skills, both written and oral. Developed negotiation, persuasion, motivation and counselling skills. Familiar with use of EMIS. Personal Qualities
