18 MONTH FIXED TERM CONTRACT - NPD MANAGER


My client is a health/wellness/fitness CPG business. They are looking for an NPD Manager to join their team for 18 months due to Maternity leave


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new product opportunities by researching ingredient trends and consumer demands.
  • Develop and manage a 3-4 year innovation pipeline, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.
  • Optimize existing product formulations to enhance profit margins without impacting quality.
  • Reformulate products as necessary to maintain high standards of quality and efficacy when ingredients become unavailable.
  • Provide training and host innovation sessions to support team members.
  • Collaborate with contract manufacturer labs, supplying thorough briefs to guide sample development.
  • Conduct competitor, market, and clinical research analyses to inform product innovation.
  • Lead recipe creation and manage documentation across all phases from concept to launch.
  • Source new ingredients that meet design, cost, and regulatory requirements; act as a key point of contact for initial specifications and lead times.
  • Research quality improvement methods, working alongside the quality manager to create protocols.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration through each stage of the New Product Development (NPD) process.
  • Ensure compliance by compiling necessary documentation for product information files (PIFs).
  • Conduct artwork reviews in Asana, adhering to legal standards for different regions.
  • Update relevant product information on the CPNP and SCNP portals.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes in key markets to maintain compliant formulations and packaging.


Skills and Qualifications

  • BSc in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or Nutrition.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in the nutrition industry.
  • Proven formulation experience in nutritional supplements (cosmetic formulation is a plus).
  • Familiarity with lab settings is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on presenting ideas, engaging in feedback, and understanding customer needs.
  • Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and within a team.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
