The role of the New Product Planning team (NPP) at UCB is to bring commercial expertise and unmet need insights into Patient Solutions, contributing to our corporate ambition to deliver a pipeline that sets us for sustained and resilient future growth.

About the role

As a New Product Planning Lead in New Targets, you will play a crucial role in determining future unmet needs and potential for differentiated value propositions for Patient Solutions' new targets and potential candidates. Your efforts will support the team in defining the right experiments to uncover the potential of our pipeline programs and prepare for candidate selection with the adequate unmet need and overall commercial perspectives.

Who you'll work with

You will collaborate closely with Research Teams and other key stakeholders to co-create asset maximization strategies that connect science to future disease unmet needs.

What you'll do Act as NPP lead for new targets through to pre-candidate selection collaborating with research teams early in development to outline potential commercial paths for new targets and future candidates. Ensure a compelling and evidence-based early value proposition and identify early commercial drivers of success and in-market viability assessment, ensuring teams have "the end in mind" when designing early development strategies. Create effective interfaces and work proactively with Research and Translational Medicine to define project value, indication(s) selection, and differentiation opportunities. Provide the right analytical work at the right time considering the project objectives and next trigger points, including competitive landscape analysis and unmet need. Initiate efforts to define the appropriate evidence generation package for future candidate selection decisions. Co-create and pressure test the initial target patient value profile(s) of the assets in the prioritized indication(s). Conduct stakeholder evidence generation gap analysis. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment. Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills: Master's Degree (or equivalent) or Ph.D./DPharm/Medical degree preferred. Scientific background required with the ability to understand the mechanisms and/or biology of interest, specifically around areas of Immunology. 6+ years of experience in Immunological research: post-doctoral or industry research experience considered. Experience in assessing pipeline assets or research strategies from commercial perspectives; various possible roles including similar NPP cross-functional role, Global Access & Price, Competitive Intelligence, Strategic Marketing, Insights/Market Research, RWE, Translational Medicine. Experience of project/matrix leadership or coordinating strategic partnerships and stakeholder management internally and externally; comfortable dealing with conflicts or diverse opinions and able to find a path forward. Strong scenario/trade-off/end-in-mind thinking and strategic partnerships skills. Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
