Newbuilding Project Manager

for a series of aluminium high speed light crafts to be built in Southampton/ UK. Besides Newbuilding, the role requires flexibility to support Certification and Verification of Materials and Components as well as Ship in Operations/ Fleet in Service activities. Job Responsibilities: Have the overall responsibility for executing the Newbuilding project, this includes activities across all project phases from sales handover to project close-out. Be the contact person towards the builder, the owner's representatives and other DNV units involved in the project and is given the authority to act on behalf of DNV within the scope of work defined with the yard. Responsible for professional and consistent deliveries throughout the project - plan, co-ordinate, follow up and improve the operational activities of the project in accordance with the framework in the DNV strategy, budget, the DMS and other applicable instructions. Coordinate multi-discipline work and initiate cooperation across disciplines as required. Perform project control, reporting and follow up within due date. Monitor and inform about status upon completion of the project according to project specific requirements and the general governing documents. Ensure proper service delivery and after sales activities, including such actions for which support from line managers or other units in DNV will be necessary. Responsible for HSE management throughout the project to ensure no work-related accidents or sickness occurs and to minimize HSE risks in daily operation. Ensure that project team members are informed about and properly trained in safety and health related procedures and regulations valid for the project and monitor that these are followed. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or experience as Chief Engineer. Minimum 5 years work experience as class and statutory Surveyor, including relevant qualifications. Experience as Newbuilding Project Manager with high speed light craft experience (aluminium) would be advantageous. Relevant Ship in Operation/ Fleet in Service and Certification of Material and Components qualifications. Electrical and Automation qualifications desirable. Fluent verbal and written command of English. Valid driver's license. Personal Qualities: Team player and able to lead a team. Capable of working independently and reliably. Self-driven and highly engaged, with the ability to motivate others. Understanding of role of class, rules, and class systematics. Service oriented and proactive attitudes toward clients, good cooperation and communication behavior with both internal and external clients. Excellent in building and maintaining personal and professional relationships as well as interacting routinely with customers to build credibility. Willing to relocate nationally or internationally for future assignments. Committed to DNV's vision and values.
