Main duties of the job We are holding our Newly Qualified Nurse recruitment day on Monday 24th February here at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust.

If you are recently qualified or completing an Adult Nursing Degree this year and are eager to build your career in nursing come and start your journey with us.

For this post we can only accept applications from students who have completed or are currently completing their qualification at a University in the UK and are due to qualify in 2025.

Job description Job responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Ensuring high quality nursing care is coordinated and delivered. Continuing to embed improvement in all that you do. Work as part of a cohesive multidisciplinary team ensuring patient care is delivered smoothly, efficiently and safely.

Competence and confidence in the Band 5 role will be achieved through hands-on clinical practice, education and training and research.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

Newly Qualified Nurse with current NMC registration or currently studying for an Adult Nursing Degree and due to qualify in 2025.

Experience Desirable

Knowledge of managing resources and contributing to departmental budget. An awareness of research and evidence based practice relevant to clinical area.

Additional criteria Essential

Clinically competent. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Articulate and knowledgeable of current professional nursing issues. Advocacy skills. Strong customer service skills.

Desirable

Ability to adapt to change within the work environment. Intravenous Therapy Skills. Teaching and mentoring skills. Team building skills. Ability to prioritise workload, instruct and direct others. Organisational skills and able to work as part of a team. Able to support development of others. Health Promotion.
