Occupational Therapist (37 hours per week) in Short Term Adults OT Team (Grade 08 £33,366 - £36,124 if newly qualified or Grade 09 £37,035 - £39,513 OT with experience) per annum/ pro rata We’re seeking to appoint an Occupational Therapist which presents an opportunity to expand your career in Social Care within an established and supportive OT Service. The OT Service is involved in a number of projects to improve services for our citizens including integrated working across the whole system. These projects and partnerships across Wrexham benefit a whole cross section of the community so it is an exciting time to join the team and contribute to shaping services for the future. Responsibilities

The OT (G08/G09) position will be working with OTs, Social Care Assessors and Moving and Handling Advisors to support the development of a responsive OT service to those citizens with potential for faster turnaround of OT interventions to ensure their well-being outcomes are met. This may include working alongside Social Work colleagues to offer a personalised assessment of care needs to ensure that care isn’t over or under prescribed in relation to functional abilities and moving & handling tasks, the use of equipment to increase independence and provision of adaptations such as stair lifts, to improve the citizen’s home environment & to improve occupational engagement. You will be supported and supervised by the HCPC registered OT management team. All training will be provided to ensure that you have the appropriate knowledge and skills for the role. This will include e-learning, mentorship and the opportunities to practice in house (community clinic and moving and handling training room) but also access to external courses such as trusted assessor, adaptations training, a series of moving and handling training from passport to advanced level accredited courses and other courses specific to your area of work. This role gives you the opportunity to develop your skills as a supervisor and practice educator as part of your RCOT pillars of career progression. There is opportunity to progress via a portfolio based route from newly qualified (G08) ultimately through to Experienced OT (G10). There is also the scope to rotate into other areas of the service to develop your professional practice further. Why work with us?
