Role Overview: As a Newly Qualified Teacher at Stepping Stones, you will be immersed in a supportive environment, allowing you opportunities to shadow experienced instructors and gain hands-on experience and build your confidence as a swimming instructor. You will play a crucial role in the delivery and progression of swimmers within our swim programme, catering to children typically aged between 3yrs – 11yrs. This position offers a unique opportunity to build a strong foundation in swim instruction while making a positive impact on children's learning and development.
Qualifications:
- National Governing Body Swimming Teacher Certificate (Essential) SSTQ | UKCC | STA | ASA
- Passion for learning and professional development
- Desirable NRASTC or NPLQ qualification but not essential
Main Duties:
- Participate in a comprehensive mentoring and shadowing program to build teaching skills and confidence
- Assist in the safe delivery of swimming lessons following the Stepping Stones weekly framework
- Support the progression and development of each swimmer through the Stepping Stones framework
- Engage with the assessment of swimmers for the awards program twice per year
- Provide feedback to the Stepping Stones office as required
