In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Emerging markets sovereign analyst engaged in research, analysis and assessment of risk across emerging markets. Provide views and investment ideas across hard currency bonds, local currency bonds and FX.
- Participate in team and firm-wide investment and macro discussions regularly, and actively contribute country, macroeconomic and market views.
- Provide commercial support as required, including presenting country and market views externally.
- Engage with external research providers, stakeholders, and policymakers to inform views, and perform country due diligence as appropriate.
- Work closely with the lead sovereign PMs in seeking to improve and articulate the sovereign investment process.
- Collaborate with the broader fixed income and investment team (multi-asset and global equity).
- 5+ years relevant experience of EM sovereign credit focussed analysis (e.g. in an official sector, sell-side, buy-side or rating agency setting)
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Economics, Finance, or other financial disciplines.
- Advanced Excel and Bloomberg skills, and ability to process large data sets (via use of programming languages and Macrobond).
- Experience in conducting research and making investment recommendations across the sovereign credit rating spectrum.
- A keen interest in emerging markets, economic development, history and geopolitics.
- An independent thinker with a strong sense of initiative, ownership, and a high attention to detail, as well as a collaborative spirit.
- Advanced interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
