About the Role We are currently recruiting for Night Support Officers (NSOs) to work a shift pattern of 4 nights on, 4 nights off, from 21:45 to 07:15 hours (equating to 33.5 hours per week) at the Beacon Children’s Home in Grantham. The children and young people in our care are aged between 8 – 17 years old, and as an NSO, you will encourage them to sleep, rest, or remain peaceful and relaxed. To do this, you will

engage and communicate effectively

with them,

support their needs during the night

should they require it, ensure they are safeguarded, and that their welfare needs are met. Additionally, you will undertake general housekeeping duties throughout the home. The NSOs are a crucial part of the 24-hour care offered within the home. You’ll work within a small team and be

fully supported

by a multi-skilled team of carers. Our NSOs also receive: an enhancement of time and a third for all hours worked between 10pm and 6am. All young people who live in the home have an identified disability and/or complex health or medical need. We ensure our employees are

well trained in trauma and therapeutic support , enabling the children and young people in our care to feel safe and thrive. This is something we are really passionate about. Our aim is to create a

nurturing home

where we support them to reach their full potential. About You Previous experience within a care profession is not essential for this role , as long as you have a good understanding of caring for children. Our residents can present with challenging behaviour, and it is important that you are

compassionate, have excellent communication skills, and maintain a calm professional demeanour.

You will need to have basic IT skills, be able to adapt to different situations, and have the motivation to provide the very best care for our residents at all times. You will be joining a successful and experienced team, and

we will provide you with the training and support required to develop in this role.

You will be required to complete a Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce Diploma.
