The mission of the Nissan Energy team is to develop a fully electric ecosystem around the Nissan battery technology from energy storage systems and industrial applications to vehicle-to-grid services. Our goal is to be the leading innovator in sustainable energy solutions and to contribute to a greener future by giving new life to used Nissan EV batteries. As a member of the battery R&D team, reporting to the Nissan Energy Dept., and working closely with different teams, you will be a key contributor in developing technologies for new and 2nd-life battery applications into non-automotive applications. The position is located in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France, and reports to the Battery section manager in the Energy team. Main Tasks & Responsibilities In coordination with the Operations team of the Dpt: Define, improve, implement technologies related to the 4R battery circular economy: recover, reuse, remanufacture, repurpose.

Develop and implement standardized testing and requalification procedures to ensure consistent and reliable battery performance, in collaboration with our partners.

Data Analysis: Analyze tests and field data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in the requalification process.

Provide technical expertise and support to the battery operations in the 2nd life battery centers held with partners.

Safety Compliance: Ensure all requalification activities adhere to safety standards and regulations.

Support for extending and qualifying the network of partners for the batteries and modules sold in different areas.

In coordination with the Product team: Support the battery product team in specifying new product development based on Nissan EV battery technology.

In coordination with the Sales and Business Development team: Provide technical support to the sales team for RFQ preparation and partners’ meetings.

In coordination with the Nissan Technical Center Europe: Provide technical support to our current partners using Nissan EV battery technology into non-automotive applications.

Support for compliance with European battery regulations by leading the activity with the external certification expert company and internal stakeholders for current products and the next generation of products.

Support for monitoring and developing the technologies needed for new product development and new market applications.

Development of software tools mainly in Matlab for simulation and/or control.

Background & Experience Master's degree in engineering, preferably in the electric field.

5 years of work experience in electric battery/storage or electric systems.

Skills, Abilities and Languages Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to foresee issues and propose solutions.

Experience in working with cross-functional teams in a complex organization.

Capable of producing reliable results based on actual data or facts.

Good experience in Matlab/Simulink: modeling and/or control.

Proficiency in English; additional languages are an upside.
