West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust is looking to recruit caring and committed individuals for our Warwick Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services contract based in Stratford. The main purpose of this role is to safely transport patients with varying mobilities to and from treatment centres or other venues as directed. This includes manual handling of patients, the care of patients, and assisting patients, as well as driving. Some patients may need to be carried (including stairs), wheeled in a chair or a stretcher, and escorted to and from the vehicle. The safe transportation of these patients is paramount to the role, including securing patients, wheelchairs, stretchers, etc., in the vehicles. You will be required to drive a variety of vehicles, including cars, ambulances, and other vehicles. Please check the Person Specification. Please note, this vacancy is for full-time posts only. If this position involves a regulated activity, it will require an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check. Job responsibilities

Carry out required vehicle and equipment checks. Be prepared to work flexibly to ensure patients are moved in a timely, safe, and dignified manner. Work within Contract Specific Quality Standards and ensure a high level of customer care (These standards vary from contract to contract and will be available at your base). Ensure effective communication with the Control Centre, by telephone or electronic means. Transfer patients using equipment and skills specific to individual needs. Provide effective care to patients, appropriate to their requirements using available equipment. Transport patients safely and considerately; this will include pre-planned and ad-hoc journeys. Ensure patients have a safe, smooth journey, complying with all relevant traffic legislation and driving with consideration for other road users. Maintain full and accurate records and reports, including Patient Transport Records, Accident Reports, and Incident Reports, etc. These may be both paper and electronic. Ensure vehicles and equipment are kept in states of cleanliness and readiness. Undertake required training to maintain acceptable standards and quality of care. Maintain a current valid driving licence. Adhere to corporate Instructions and Policies, Operational Instructions, Clinical Protocols, Quality Procedures, and other verbal or written instructions. Perform other tasks in keeping with the post as required by supervisory staff and managers. The above are the core duties and responsibilities. Qualifications

Good standard of general education with a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English or be willing to undertake a level 2 qualification within the first 12 months in post. Skills

Full clean manual driving licence (showing no more than 3 points). Experience

Experience of working within a public service or customer care environment. Experience of driving a variety of vehicles. Employer name
