North Hub Lead Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

The North Hub Lead is a key part of the Step 2 management team, providing leadership and operational management for our office in Basingstoke. Alongside maintaining a clinical caseload, you will provide clinical guidance to a team of Senior PWPs with the support of the Clinical Lead and Service Managers. Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Step 2 Service in the North hub, including ensuring clinical safeguarding and information governance arrangements are in place. This role will maintain links with and report back to the Solent Mind Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees, as directed, using the integrated reporting framework. Above all, you must maintain our high standard of care and ensure we continue to meet the targets set out for NHS Talking Therapies Services. Job responsibilities

Clinical Maintain a reduced caseload to meet the service requirements. This includes completing all requirements relating to data collection and recording in our patient database in a timely manner and completing PEQs with patients. Manage the clinical caseloads of SPWPs through case management and clinical supervision. Manage the SPWPs rota to provide evening duty cover for the clinical team late shifts and additional cover for sickness/annual leave. Monitor waiting times and capacity within your locality for low intensity support and respond by coordinating groups and service provision appropriately. Ensure response to incidents and access to records requests at Step 2 for the Locality Hub in an appropriate and timely manner, ensuring compliance with data protection and information governance protocols. Review and complete managers reports for incidents within the area. Attend 48-hour panel review meetings for any serious incidents that occur within the area. Support SPWPs with screening referrals from secondary care and/or complex cases and making clinical decisions on suitability for our service whilst adhering to protocols. When appropriate, ensure people are referred to a suitable service and not left without support. Ensure attendance of SPWPs at multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or clients in treatment, where appropriate. When issues arise during these meetings, the Hub Lead will look to problem solve these whilst maintaining good professional relationships. Work closely with Step 3 workers, ensuring appropriate stepping-up and stepping-down arrangements are in place in line with the stepped care approach and service policies and procedures. Assess and integrate issues surrounding employment into the overall therapy process with our Employment Advice team. Professional Uphold the standards of practice according to Solent Mind and NHS Talking Therapies. Stay up to date on new recommendations/guidelines set by the Department of Health and Social Care (e.g., NHS Long Term Plan, National Institute for Clinical Excellence). Make sure patient confidentiality is protected at all times. Prepare for and attend clinical and managerial supervision on a regular basis. Identify and review clear objectives with clinical managers on a regular basis as part of continuous professional development (CPD). Maintain up-to-date records in relation to CPD. Ensure personal development plan maintains up-to-date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery models/developments. Participate in individual annual appraisal review and respond to agreed service objectives. Attend conferences and workshops in line with identified professional goals. Managerial Day-to-day management of the Basingstoke office. Work closely with Step 2 and Step 3 colleagues to build and maintain strong team connections and maximise the potential of the North Hub to support its local population. Develop relationships and partnerships with external organisations in the Hub locality, to reach local communities and engage and support new patients who can benefit from support with us. Provide regular managerial and clinical supervision sessions for SPWPs. Ensure that line-managed staff maintain appropriate IAPTus clinical records, in keeping with service operational policy and in line with best clinical practice. Support the ongoing professional and personal development of the staff you manage. Identify training needs in your team and appropriate training opportunities to meet these needs. Carry out annual appraisals and regular reviews of objectives and assessing competences in line with PWP accreditation. Deliver training as directed by the Clinical Lead and Service Manager. Support SPWPs to address any performance issues and identify training needs and work with them to identify solutions. Deputise for the Clinical Manager PWP Lead in their absence. Support recruitment processes within the clinical team. General Adhere to the aims, values, policies, and procedures of Solent Mind, particularly safeguarding and health & safety. Skills and Knowledge

Confident in ability to deliver assessments (including risk), low intensity treatments, and develop a therapeutic alliance over the phone, video call, and face-to-face. Able to provide clinical supervision and demonstrate clear decision-making in line with the NHS Talking Therapies model and NICE guidelines. Able to navigate difficult conversations in a sensitive manner, with patients, colleagues, and representatives of other agencies. Thorough understanding of NHS Talking Therapies and the concept of stepped care. Ability to develop and motivate staff as individuals and as a team. Responsive to feedback and self-reflective, including knowing when to seek guidance. Resilient and capable of maintaining boundaries to manage own personal stress. Adaptable to short- and long-term change, for example needing to restructure your day when patient risk needs to be addressed urgently or service processes/policies update. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Intermediate computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office programs. Qualifications

University Certificate in Clinical Practice in NHS Talking Therapies Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner training at degree level. Relevant clinical supervisory training. Experience

1+ year of experience as a Senior PWP within an NHS Talking Therapies service. Using Patient Management Systems such as IAPTus, PC MIS, or RIO. Holding leadership and/or senior management responsibilities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team and/or working with multiple agencies to achieve a shared goal. Delivering training and supporting ongoing development. Recruitment and talent acquisition. Developing service provision or processes. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
