The Company A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Product Technologist to join a multi-award-winning drinks company who are renowned for pushing boundaries with their innovative product ranges and natural ingredients. They are now looking for a bright Technologist to join their Product Team to strengthen their business. The Role Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will support with everything under the technical, quality, and food safety umbrella. The role is varied but some key responsibilities will include: Taking ownership of the quality management system in order to maintain accurate specifications, policies, and procedures, approving suppliers, and maintaining due diligence records. Working collaboratively with manufacturing partners and suppliers, carrying out site visits both in the UK and USA to raise standards throughout the product life cycle and maintain accreditation records. Co-ordinating and running regular quality control panels, safeguarding the consistency of the company’s products. Working closely with the NPD Managers to support with technical aspects of new product development, including creating and managing timelines, ingredient risk assessments, sample submissions, specification creation, and compliance to artwork approvals. The Person We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious technologist with a food science/food technology degree, and a couple of years of experience working in a similar technical, quality, and compliance role within the food industry. Ideally, you’ll have gained this experience from a start-up or SME that has encouraged you to think on your feet, act with autonomy, and be agile in the face of technical hurdles. You are HACCP Level 2 and Food Safety Level 2 qualified, and are well familiarised with improving technical functions such as writing policies or procedures for a Quality Management System. You’re passionate, bring heaps of energy and enthusiasm to the role along with an inquisitive and logical mind. Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail, you’ll have top-notch communication, organisation, and prioritisation skills along with an excellent analytical approach - a necessity when handling multiple projects and liaising with colleagues at all business levels.
