We are looking for an experienced radiographer or technologist to work in our Nuclear Medicine department at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. This is a great opportunity to join us in a state-of-the-art Nuclear Medicine department in a modern hospital building. You will ensure a high-quality scanning service administering radiopharmaceuticals and performing Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT scans. Main duties of the job
You will have technical expertise and good clinical knowledge. You will be capable of responding to challenges and working cooperatively as part of a large MDT. You will assist with the effective day-to-day operation of the service. You will need to be resourceful and innovative to ensure that the service delivers prompt and timely care to our patients, as well as maintaining good relationships with colleagues. The post holder will undertake clinical work in a highly specialised area which requires consideration of the risks associated with working with ionising radiation and cross-infection. The person needs to possess the empathy and skills to help patients through difficult and complex procedures. Assess patient referrals, manage care, safely prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and scan patients. Perform image processing and production of results to the highest technical standards. Support the PET-CT Superintendent, Nuclear Medicine Chief Technologist, and Lead Superintendent, and work collaboratively with other clinical colleagues to provide an efficient and effective service. Work within regulatory frameworks and follow all Local Rules and Standard Operating Procedures designed to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and associated regulations. Work in all Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT departments and weekend and evening duties as required. Person specification
Qualifications
A relevant qualification (BSc, PgD) in either Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Clinical Technology, or related subject. Knowledge
