Join us as a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Nuclear)

Location: Derby

Contract/Staff Position

Your future Team:

You will be joining an Embedded Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer. You will be responsible for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities across a range of engineering projects which will form part of the submarine’s new build and development programmes.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the nuclear sector

Understanding of mechanical design, safety case, operation, (eg precision, cleanliness requirements, damage prevention) and LfE capture

Previous experience with Technical Document Authoring, Substantiation and Presenting

Understanding of Nuclear Health & Safety i.e. Understanding of safety case requirements (Safety Functional Requirements, Engineering Schedules and criticality prevention)

Previous exposure to Chemical Plant, Gloveboxes and associated processes would be an advantage along with an understanding of Welding, NDT techniques

Familiarity with PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)

Knowledge of engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)

BEng or similar professional qualification in an engineering related field Additional Information

Security Clearance

This role requires the successful candidate to hold (or be able to obtain) a minimum of a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance.
