Angel Hill Surgery has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice nurse to join our supportive nursing team, on a part-time basis for 19 hours per week. We are a friendly practice, of over 14,000 patients with 5 GP partners and 5 salaried GPs. Main duties of the job

Undertaking health assessments, administering medication and treatments, and performing diagnostic tests. Providing and evaluating a range of health interventions to ensure that patients' health and social care needs are met. General health and well-being promotion as well as creating individual, person-centred plans for patients with, or at risk of, a long-term condition. Managing and treating long-term conditions, in line with national and local policies and the practice needs. Reviewing medication for therapeutic effectiveness, in accordance with evidence-based practice as well as national and practice protocols. Prioritising health problems and intervening appropriately. Supporting and managing the health needs of women presenting for sexual health and contraception, and cervical cytology consultations. Implementing, and participating in, vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children. Meeting the needs of patients presenting for opportunistic wound care. Hypertension review and management. Running asthma and COPD clinics and reviews. About us

Qualifications

A relevant nursing qualification. Current NMC registration with an active PIN. Fundamentals of Practice Nursing course (General Practice Nurse Foundation Programme) or equivalent experience qualifications. Competence to undertake asthma and COPD clinics and reviews, holding relevant certificates. Experience

Evidence of clinical skills and experience in treatment room consultation, phlebotomy, ECG recording, screening, management of long-term conditions, cervical cytology sampling, vaccinations and immunisations, dressing and wound care. Compassionate manner with an empathetic approach and demonstrable kindness in all aspects of your work. The successful candidate will value the dignity of our patients, their relatives and carers, as well as their colleagues at the practice. Knowledge, and experience of its application, in supporting long-term conditions. Insight and understanding of current issues in nursing and the wider NHS. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
