As Medical and Surgical Nurse Case Manager, you’ll use your clinical and case management skills to provide a high-quality care service to our members and their families undergoing treatment for non-cancer conditions. You’ll work closely with clinicians and hospitals to get the best care for our members. Regular training and opportunities for increased responsibility. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our Tunbridge Wells office, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition. What you’ll be doing: Effectively manage claims and provide our members with specialist knowledge and assistance. Ensure members are aware of treatment options within their cover and keep them informed of progress of their claims. Provide telephone support during a difficult time to our members and their families. Take an active interest in our team, department, and wider business. Learn how you can personally contribute to achieving our business goals. Learn and role model principles of claims cost management and identify potential areas of leakage. Develop in-depth knowledge, expertise, proficiency and experience of medical conditions and claims. Build and maintain effective working relationships. Continue professional development, maintain NMC registration and IDD requirement. What you’ll bring: Registered Nurse (RN) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in adult nursing – essential. Current registration with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) – essential. Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills. Ability to manage difficult conversations. Robust IT skills – you’ll be using a mix of Microsoft applications plus bespoke AXA Health systems. Training on AXA Health systems available as required. Keenness to gain knowledge of health insurance - training provided. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom. This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
