An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Nurse Endoscopist in our busy department. Kings College Hospital would like to offer you a warm welcome to be part of our Endoscopy team. Our JAG Accredited service provides a range of both diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures. There is also the opportunity for self development with a funded Advanced Practitioner course available alongside various other training skills to add to and develop the role. It is an exciting time to join KCH as we provide patients with more convenient access to vital diagnostic procedures. This includes five fully-equipped Endoscopy procedure rooms and facilities with separate male and female waiting and recovery areas, improving privacy and comfort for patients. Main duties of the job
Manage a caseload of patients, supporting patients, their families and clinical staff throughout the diagnostic process. Role model and provide clinical support for junior members of the team. Be independently competent in undertaking diagnostic endoscopy (OGD, Flexible sigmoidoscopy and/or Colonoscopy). Be willing to undertake TNE and support the development of this service. If not fully trained, would be willing to participate in TNE course. Collaborate with the management teams within the gastroenterology and endoscopy departments. Contribute to the immersion training offered to staff in the department. As an established Clinical Endoscopist competent in delivering education, supporting with audit and research, the post holder will take personal responsibility for the setting of professional standards and the monitoring of performance against the agreed local and national standards for the Service, in collaboration with the management teams within the endoscopy department.
