A Nurse is required to work for a renowned private ophthalmic medical clinic on Queen Anne Street (Bond Street tube station).
Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm with some flexibility. This Nurse role is challenging and intellectually stimulating as you will be assisting a prominent professor retinal surgery (cataract and vitrectomy) as well as assist the Research team with the retinal studies such as YAG laser vitreolysis and surgery for Vision Degrading Myodesopsiae, Photo-Biomodulation and Gene Therapy in AMD, Wide Field OCT and Imaging of the Peripheral Vitreoretinal Interface.
Salary depends on experience, up to £38k. Previous experience in a hospital setting is required, and assisting with surgeries is advantageous. Working in a private medical sector is a must.
Nurse Duties: · Being independent, competent and confident with assisting with all retina surgeries (vitrectomy and cataract), study surgeries and procedures including indirect laser, FFA, Photo-Biomodulation, Intravitreal Injections, centrifuge, drawing blood and processing urine and blood samples. · Pre op assessments · Scanning and examining retina and study patients · Liaising with the research assistant regarding all retinal studies and to assist with the coordination and organisation of the studies. · Contacting patients to schedule appointments and follow ups if required · Dealing with administrative duties · Daily set up of the surgery room ensuring the room is stocked and equipment is clean and switched on ready to use · Regular stock takes and ensuring all equipment is appropriately maintained and calibrated as required · Ordering and keeping stock of medicines and consumables
