Contract Nurse Practitioner - Palliative Care

Head Medical is excited to announce an opportunity for a Contract Nurse Practitioner specialising in Palliative Care for our client based in Gibraltar. About the Role

The successful candidate will be an integral part of a healthcare team, providing compassionate and comprehensive care to patients with serious illnesses. The role requires a thorough understanding of palliative care principles, enabling the Nurse Practitioner to manage patient symptoms effectively and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. This position is for 8 months, to start as soon as possible up to and including 06/08/2025. Salary will be dependant on experience and pro rata for the duration of assignment. Key Responsibilities

The post holder will have responsibilities in four main areas of work: Clinical Practice Leadership & Management Evidence Based Practice Education and Development These include, but are not limited to, providing advanced levels of clinical practice, undertaking comprehensive patient assessment and review, initiate and lead medicine management reviews. Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in Nurse Practitioner roles with specific experience in Palliative Care. The individual should demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to patient-centred care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team as well as management of change and ability to facilitate change. You must be able to demonstrate evidence of developing innovative practice, have the ability to critically analyse research and apply to practice. Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging and emotionally volatile situations. Other attributes should include: Exceptional influencing skills Advanced communication skills Good organisational skills Good written skills Good presentation skills Advanced clinical practice skills in Palliative care. Advanced communication skills Effective, safe assessment and management of patient risk Management of patients with complex needs Understanding of palliative care issues and local policy Good leadership qualities including: - • Motivation • Decision making skills • Negotiation skills • Interpersonal skills Essential Qualifications:

Registered General Nurse. NMC/Gibraltar Registration. MSc Palliative Care. Non-Medical Independent Prescribing Qualification. A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in a palliative care setting. Qualification on Teaching & Assessing/ Mentorship. Evidence of additional post registration study relevant to their area of work. Evidence of continuing professional development. Portfolio of evidence reflecting practice experience and professional requirements. Experience working as an autonomous practitioner in Palliative Care. Company Overview
