Ambulatory Care and Day Treatment at the New QEII Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Nurse Team Leader who is looking to develop in their career. Do you possess excellent communication skills, strong and inclusive leadership skills and can evidence the delivery of caring and compassionate care? We have patients requiring investigations and treatment such as clinical reviews, OPAT, blood transfusions, Iron infusions, wound care and lots more. We work closely with all specialities including Haematology, Oncology, Neurology, and Gastroenterology. Our services cover 08:00 - 18:30 on weekdays and 09:00 - 15:00 (Nurse-led) on weekends and bank holidays. At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. You will look after the whole department using your strong leadership skills. You will be an inclusive leader who will have excellent communication skills, positively influence, effectively delegate, help and support the whole team, and have the required skills to progress and develop in your career. Qualifications / Training
First level nurse on Part 1 of the NMC Register, educated to diploma level Mentorship qualification or willingness to undertake Mentorship Evidence of Leadership development Commitment to lifelong learning Relevant post-registration experience in an Ambulatory/Day care setting Evidence of ongoing professional development Willingness to successfully complete clinical post-registration education Previous Experience
Can manage the running of the department Ambulatory/Day care setting experience Teaching experience Skills
IV trained Venepuncture Cannulation Blood product knowledge Ability to communicate effectively – both written and verbal with various team members in complex matters Demonstrates a good standard of clinical care and an ability to role model it for others Prioritising and organisational skills Tissue viability knowledge and management Knowledge and skills in Central Venous Access Devices Knowledge
Knowledge of local and national health care initiatives/innovation to improve patient care, experience and safety Knowledge of systems such as Lorenzo and ICE Awareness of current developments in nursing Awareness of resource management Anticoagulation knowledge Knowledge of haematology related medications and conditions Other Requirements
