Responsibilities: Due to us expanding, we have two positions available. Must be able to drive and be flexible with hours, either two full days or two half-day shifts for help with after-school clubs and cover bank/sickness. Assist in the care and supervision of children in the nursery: - Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to play and learn. - Engage children in age-appropriate activities and play. - Assist with nappy changes and bathroom breaks. - Serve snacks and meals to children as needed. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the nursery area. - Communicate with parents regarding their child's day and any concerns or updates, remembering safeguarding policies. Experience: - Previous experience working with young children preferred (level 2 or 3 childcare). - Good knowledge of safeguarding rules. - Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities. - Ability to multitask and prioritize the needs of multiple children, set up activities, and supervise them. - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. - Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children. Must be reliable, have good timekeeping skills, and be able to work in a small team. Please note that the hours for this position can be discussed and varied depending on the right candidate for a childcare assistant. Open hours are between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and hours will be given between those times. A driving licence is essential for school pickups and the location of the vacancy. A DBS check will need to be done, along with safeguarding and paediatric first aid training upon request. Looking for someone to cover Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Shifts can be split into 7:30 am - 1:30 pm or 1:30 pm - 6:00 pm, or longer shift patterns, including some after-school hours and bank extras where possible upon request.
