The setting Midhurst Nursery Class is a small, well-established term-time preschool which has been serving the local area for forty years. It has been rated as OFSTED Outstanding on the last three DfE inspections. The staff work closely together to provide fun, educational and memorable experiences for the children, often going the extra mile to facilitate this. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our small friendly team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a desire to support their development in a nurturing environment, as well as an ability to work well with other adults. Duties Assist in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development. Supervise and engage with children, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment. Support the lead nursery staff in managing daily routines and maintaining cleanliness within the nursery. Observe children's behaviour and development, providing feedback to senior staff as necessary. Assist with basic childcare tasks such as feeding, changing, and comforting children as needed. Help maintain an organised and welcoming nursery space that encourages exploration and creativity. Assist with the setting up and clearing away of all resources and equipment each day as this is a pack-away setting. Requirements To be eligible for this position candidates must have: At least a Level 2 NVQ qualification in Childcare and Education (although a Level 3 is preferred). Experience in an Early Years setting. Strong communication skills interacting with children, parents, and other staff.
