Main duties and responsibilities:
Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursery.
Effectively manage the staff team and support the Area Manager with the recruitment of new staff.
Ensure that all nursery policies and procedures are adhered to by all users of the nursery.
Work as part of a team to deliver an ambitious, flexible curriculum driven by the children’s interests and curiosity.
Ensure all environments are enabling.
Have a good knowledge of child development to accurately observe and assess children.
Operational Responsibilities:
Ensure that the nursery conforms to and exceeds the requirements of Ofsted and is always ready for inspection, ensuring the minimum awarded grade is Good.
Ensure that the nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum ‘good’ standard.
Maintain regular staff supervisions, assessing the performance of all staff through regular management observations and peer-on-peer observations.
Minimum Requirements:
A minimum NVQ level 3 qualification in childcare is required.
Paediatric first aid & Food Hygiene certificates (training will be provided).
At least three years’ experience in a management or leadership role within early years.
The post is subject to two satisfactory employment references and a DBS check.
