Nursery Manager

We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to join our team in Lewes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring that all children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment. The nursery is looking for someone with proven experience in leadership to join the team, ensuring the staff have the skills and training to provide a nurturing experience for children. The role has support from an administrator, allowing more time for you to embed yourself within the daily operations of the setting. The nursery is a medium-sized setting operating within the hours of 8 am until 6 pm. There is space within the nursery for an outdoor classroom, playground, green spaces, and a forest school opposite. The nursery has good transport links to Brighton and Hove, is a short walk from the train station, and has on-site parking. Upon starting, you will be given a three-month induction with the current Manager to ensure you are fully trained and onboarded ahead of starting the role solely. Key Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery, including staffing, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that the nursery operates efficiently and effectively. Ensure that all children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment. Build strong relationships with parents and other stakeholders to ensure that the nursery meets the needs of the local community. Lead and motivate a team of nursery staff to deliver outstanding results. Extend Forest School spaces within the nursery. Qualifications and Skills: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the early years sector. A relevant childcare qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and management experience. A passion for providing high-quality care and education to young children. Forest School qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
