We are seeking a Nursery Manager, for a new Forest School/ Reggio Emilia nursery in Thornaby. The manager will be both room and office based, that has existing leadership experience, has a passion for early years and can work alongside the area manager and deputy to create a wonderful enriching environment. The remarkable outdoor space lends itself well to anyone who is passionate about outdoor learning/ forest school approaches to create a unique learning space. The Nursery Manager is responsible for working with the Nursery area Manager to create and deliver the vision of the nursery. Key Duties and responsibilities Childcare & Education Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children. Observe, support and extend children's learning. Plan appropriately for the EYFS and ensure rich and diverse outdoor play experiences are offered Maintain accurate and effective children’s records. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members. Demonstrate good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion. Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Child Protection Procedures. Work alongside parents/carers of special needs children to provide full integration in the Setting Ensure the nutritional needs of the children are met and Food Safety Regulations are complied with. Comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS. Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with advisory teachers, schools, and other agencies that may visit the setting. Learn about current developments in childcare and education policy and practice. ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled To share responsibility with fellow colleagues with observation, assessment, monitoring and record keeping of children’s learning experiences and development using a variety of methods, to inform our planning. Ensure staff are up to date with training and development Contribute to partnership working to ensure that the children have access to appropriate experiences to support their physical, emotional, social and intellectual development whilst being aware of families’ ethnic, cultural and linguistic development. To provide learning experiences that challenge and enable all children to develop in confidence and independence within a stimulating environment. To nurture positive relationships with children ensuring their emotional wellbeing and promoting their confidence and self-esteem.
