Job Overview Due to increasing demand in our expanding nursery setting, we are seeking to appoint a relief Nursery Nurse to join our current team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible person to support our Nursery team in providing quality care and learning for babies aged 3 months to four years. You will work as part of a team to provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that promotes learning through play. The candidate will have relevant experience of working with young children. Qualifications A level 2 or level 3 Early Years qualification (desirable) Experience of working with children aged 0-4 years old A calm, positive, consistent, and patient approach to supporting all children Experience of working as part of a team The ability to adapt to change Responsibilities Provide attentive and responsive care to children in the nursery setting. Plan and implement engaging educational activities that promote early childhood development. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare. Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play activities. Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and addressing any concerns with parents or guardians. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment that meets health and safety standards. Drive initiatives that foster positive relationships among children and encourage social skills development. Experience Previous experience in childcare or a nursery setting is essential. A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is highly desirable. Proven ability to manage groups of children effectively while maintaining a calm demeanour. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are required for effective interaction with children and parents alike.
