8:30 – 5:30 / 6 (Monday to Friday, but the setting will consider a job share of 2/3 days) Excell Supply are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Nursery Nurse to join a Team at an Outstanding Private Nursery in Shrewsbury. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and education for children aged [insert age range], ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and developmental needs are met. You will play a vital role in supporting children's early learning through engaging activities and fostering a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Childcare and Development: Plan, prepare, and deliver a stimulating curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Promote the emotional, social, and intellectual development of children through creative play and structured activities. Observe and record children’s progress, maintaining accurate developmental records.

Health, Safety, and Welfare: Ensure the nursery environment is safe, clean, and welcoming at all times. Promote healthy eating and support children during mealtimes, following dietary requirements. Administer first aid as required and report any incidents or concerns promptly.

Parent and Caregiver Communication: Build strong, professional relationships with parents and caregivers. Share updates on children’s progress and wellbeing through regular meetings, reports, and informal interactions. Offer advice and guidance on child development when appropriate.

Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team to deliver the best possible care and education for children. Support less experienced staff and apprentices, acting as a mentor when needed. Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.

Compliance and Standards: Adhere to nursery policies, including safeguarding, health & safety, and equality. Maintain a thorough understanding of statutory requirements and updates within the childcare sector.

Qualifications and Skills:

Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (or equivalent). Thorough understanding of the EYFS framework. First Aid and Safeguarding qualifications (or willingness to complete them upon hiring). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Passionate about early years education and child development. Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to the needs of the nursery. Desirable:

Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting. Experience working with children with additional needs. Proficiency in planning age-appropriate activities. As members of the REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) and Umbrella body to the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service), Excell Supply is committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children. All applicants will be subject to thorough employment checks and must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service certificate in place. Candidates without an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service will have to apply for a new one.
