Wembley Park Montessori is recruiting for an experienced Baby Unit Manager to join their busy, yet warm and friendly nursery of 36 places. This role is full time, working 40 hours per week—working a variety of shifts between the hours of 8am-6pm offering at least one half day per week. Salary:
£24,960 - £30,000 per annum dependent on experience. Responsibilities
The Early Years Teacher ultimately has a duty of care for all children placed in their care to safeguard and promote each child’s welfare. Work as part of a team to ensure all legal and curriculum requirements are met in line with Inspire Montessori Schools policies and procedures. Good communication skills are imperative, involving listening, questioning, and understanding and responding to what is being communicated by children and those caring for them. Share information with other staff in a timely manner and work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all children within the nursery. Have a good knowledge of child development to ensure that all the children’s individual needs are fully met. Involve in the planning of activities to create and develop a stimulating environment providing high-quality childcare. Undertake training in Health and Safety as necessary. Follow codes of safe working practices for both children and staff and comply with the Inspire Montessori Schools Health and Safety Policy. Report any concerns regarding the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and staff. Co-ordinate and carry out the planning and prioritising of activities in the room. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and legislative requirements. Deliver a high level of quality childcare while maintaining a professional and positive outcome for both children and staff. Communicate with the line manager regarding activities and progress within the room. Attend and participate in staff meetings & training. Be assigned as the key person for a designated number of children. Build effective relationships with all parents within the room. Implement, co-ordinate and supervise suitable activities to create a stimulating environment. Assist with the resolution of issues/queries/complaints within the room. Ensure all areas of the nursery are serviced and maintained to the highest standards. Support equality of opportunity and equality of treatment towards all staff. A minimum of Level 3 in Childcare or Montessori Diploma is essential. Previous experience of leading a Room in a nursery setting with children under the age of 5 is essential. Previous experience of working in a Montessori setting is desired but not essential. Be a positive role model to your team. An extensive knowledge of the current EYFS. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Be passionate, motivated, and have the ability to work well within a team. Good ICT skills.
