We are looking for a Fixed Term, full-time Level 3-qualified Nursery Practitioner to join our fantastic Sunshine Day Nursery teams at Sheffield’s Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals for 1 year. Offering year-round childcare to NHS and hospital staff, each site cares for up to 144 children and features dedicated baby, toddler, and pre-school units, extended opening hours (6.30am to 7pm), alongside a school holiday club at the Northern General. We pride ourselves on giving children the best start in life, and our great staff are committed to providing a fun, social, stimulating, and safe environment for them to develop and thrive. You’ll be responsible for preparing and organizing a wide range of learning activities and resources for the children, as well as maintaining good communication and relationships with parents. To apply, you’ll need your Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification, and a sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards. Main duties of the job

Support the Senior Nursery Practitioner in ensuring an excellent quality service and be a good role model for Childcare Assistants, Apprentices, and Students. Provide an interesting and stimulating environment that facilitates independence and resourcefulness for the children. Develop quality learning opportunities and activities that provide an interesting, inclusive, and stimulating environment. Provide excellent care and educational opportunities for the children. Organize, prepare, and collect resources in the nursery in a timely manner. Plan and implement activities and experiences appropriate for children of all ages using the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and Ofsted guidelines. Prepare children’s work for display, ensuring it is well presented and promotes self-esteem. Provide information displays for parents and carers. Person specification

Qualifications

NVQ 3 in Childcare/Education or equivalent qualification General IT Skills First Aid Certificate Safeguarding certificate Experience

Relevant experience within a Day Care/childcare setting Experience in EYFS and curriculum planning Awareness of child development and Health & Hygiene Knowledge of Safeguarding Children Other Factors

Willingness to undertake training as required by the post
