Job Description: Nursery Room Leader (Full-Time) Location: Camden, London Hours: Full-Time (9-3:30 term time) Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Room Leader to join our vibrant team in Camden. As a Room Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of your designated room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to thrive. You will lead a team of practitioners, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained, and fostering strong relationships with children, parents, and staff. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the team within your room, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to staff. Ensure all staff understand and adhere to the nursery’s policies and procedures. Conduct regular team meetings and individual performance reviews. Child Development: Plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate activities and learning experiences in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Monitor and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records and identifying any areas for additional support. Promote positive relationships with children, creating a warm, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere. Health and Safety: Ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all children in the room, conducting regular risk assessments and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Administer first aid and medication as required, following appropriate protocols. Parent Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular feedback on their child’s development and addressing any concerns. Organize and participate in parent evenings and other nursery events. Administrative Duties: Manage staff rotas, ensuring adequate coverage in the room at all times. Keep up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending training sessions as necessary. Requirements: Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent. Previous experience in a nursery setting, with at least one year in a supervisory or leadership role. Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. Organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy environment effectively. A passion for working with children and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education.
