To carry out assigned duties, involving direct care and observation of service users under the guidance and indirect supervision of qualified staff. To report to the qualified staff any observations made whilst providing care to service users, providing details of mental state and risk factors. Under the direction of the qualified practitioner, participate in the delivery of planned care for allocated service users. The post holder will undertake a range of assigned duties which include: Assist in the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual care of service users under the supervision of a registered nurse. Provide information to enable the effectiveness of care to be evaluated. Help with the involvement of service users, and carers/relatives in the delivery of care. Assist in providing care and support to service users with a range of personal needs. Complete physical observations and report the results. Recognise and respond appropriately to urgent medical and psychiatric emergency situations. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills when interacting with service users. Report appropriate observations and any concerns regarding service user care to the qualified practitioner. Ensure appropriate records are maintained under the direction of the qualified practitioner. Person specification
