We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive team on the Trauma Unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital. We can offer you a diverse working environment whilst allowing you to develop your clinical skills, knowledge, and expertise giving you the opportunity to gain advanced specialised skills to care for patients with complex needs. Duties include: Providing personal care, repositioning patients to maintain skin integrity and mobilising patients to support recovery for post-operative patients. Communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and their family/visitors/carers. Aware of the importance of accurate documentation and contribute to reports of patients' activity and progress. Participate in discussions about patient care and ward/departmental development, including handover and team meetings. Qualifications
GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English or equivalent Level 3 NVQ Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register Nursing Associate Foundation Degree Experience
Experience working in an Acute Hospital setting Experience working in Trauma and Orthopaedics Skills
Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient contact Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal and non-verbal communication) with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team. Ability to support, supervise, assess and act as a role model to trainee nursing associates, nursing assistants as required within the clinical setting Medication Administration Wound care such as VAC and PICO dressings Disclosure and Barring Service Check
