We have an exciting opportunity to join the Complex Nutrition Team as a Band 6 Nutrition Clinical Nurse Specialist on a fixed term basis to cover a period of leave. The fixed term post is due to finish early January 2026. The team is led by Gastroenterologists and you will be working alongside a Band 8a and Band 7 CNS as well as the Dietician and Pharmacy teams. You will get to care for a range of patients who require complex artificial nutrition. It is a very busy and demanding job. It is mostly clinical (working on the wards and attending outpatient clinics) however you will be expected to contribute to protocol changes and training of staff. To lead on the development of nursing standards for nutritional care. To effectively manage own caseload, co-ordinating the care and treatment of patients receiving nutritional support (both enteral and parenteral). Working within the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients who require enteral and parenteral nutritional support receive the highest standards of care. Experience of working with patients who require enteral or parenteral nutrition is essential along with advanced communication skills. Attending weekly MDT clinics for patients who require enteral and parenteral nutrition. Assess patients requiring long term enteral tube feeding for both inpatients and outpatients. Facilitate insertions of complex nasogastric tubes, nasojejunal tubes and nasal bridles where needed. Contribute and participate in core clinical policies relating to nutritional support. About us
