Education Manager IN SHORT Have you ever thought of a career in Prison Education? Do you like working in a challenging but rewarding environment where each day is different and time flies? Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMP Coldingley are seeking innovative and engaging Teachers to work with a diverse group of learners, helping to build their confidence, develop their skills and achieve within a college environment. The College are looking for teachers interested in variable/ad-hoc hours who are keen to explore Prison Education at HMP Coldingley. HMP Coldingley are currently looking for individuals with expertise or relevant industry experience in one or more of the below subject areas to support their curriculum delivery: English Functional Skills Maths Functional Skills Leadership and Management Level 3 Award in Education and Training Art Open University Learning Facilitator Business Studies Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Green Card Emergency First Aid at Work Food Safety Health and Safety Forklift Simulator A recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training) with experience is preferred; however, for the right candidate with relevant industry experience, full training and mentoring will be provided. Prison education runs all year round, all day Monday-Thursday and until lunchtime on a Friday. Delivery hours vary slightly prison to prison, but full days are split across 2 long lessons (Morning and Afternoon). Hourly paid opportunities (Occasional Workers) can be varying and change frequently, so flexible availability is essential. Requirements can range from short notice short term cover to longer term sickness cover or recruitment gaps and anything in between. If you hold qualifications or expertise in more than one area or are able to travel to more than one prison, this could give you the opportunity to cover across multiple courses/sites and as a result the potential for more hours.
