As an Occupational Health Adviser Trainee, you will be part of a professional team delivering high-quality, customer-focused health and wellbeing services. Your role will involve providing timely treatment and advice to staff and managers, in line with DH guidelines and legislation, to support the Trust's wellbeing agenda. You will manage Occupational Health Clinics and a designated caseload, offering comprehensive and confidential services. COHWB serves both Trust staff and external organisations, focusing on reducing sickness absence and boosting productivity. Under clinical supervision, you will work towards achieving Occupational Health Adviser nursing competencies. Main duties of the job

The Occupational Health Adviser Trainee will be able to: Support the health and wellbeing of employees and contracted staff, delivering services such as pre-placement health clearance, risk management, and exposure-related advice. Develop skills to deliver comprehensive clinical services, including pre-employment screening, risk assessments (e.g., latex and pregnancy), and managing sharps and exposure injuries in line with national guidelines. Administer routine vaccinations, managing infectious disease outbreaks, and performing venepuncture. Assist in the development and implementation of occupational health policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practices. Collaborate with clinical professionals, provide advice, management reports, and participate in case discussions. Maintaining effective communication with supervisors, managers, and clients is essential to ensure seamless service delivery. Contribute to training and education by sharing knowledge through learning programs and health promotion workshops while supporting the professional development of team members. Align clinical practice with evidence-based guidelines. Administrative duties include managing and securing clinical records, participating in audits and research, and contributing to service development initiatives by collecting and reporting routine data. Registered Nurse Willing to undertake training in Occupational Health degree Able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of occupational health in an NHS environment Excellent written communication skills demonstrated throughout application Experience in working in Occupational Health/Travel Medicine Clinical skills including spirometry Experience working in the NHS Disclosure and Barring Service Check
