To work autonomously and as part of the multidisciplinary team, maintaining effective communication with employees, managers, and other professionals; Act as specialist nurse, advising employees on OH requirements in relation to the working environment; Provide specialist clinical advice in accordance with best OH evidence-based practice; Assess new employees at the earliest possible time to establish baseline health; Provide support to employees through potentially difficult or distressing situations; Maintain appropriate records in line with department protocols & HSE/OH guidance; Undertake the assessment of employees referred by HR Department; Proactively manage sickness absence in conjunction with HR Department; Contact GP/Specialists in line with the Access to Medical Records Act; Respond to employees/managers requests for support/information on the working environment; Ensure statutory health surveillance is maintained for all employees; Promote Workplace Health and Wellbeing to all employees and external clients through effective communication and behaviour; Develop policies and procedures appropriate to the needs of Occupational Health; Work within the scope of the NMC Part 3 Scope of Professional Practice & Code of Conduct; Management & issuing of PPE; Ensure that First Aid training register is updated with relevant training undertaken; Awareness of Health and Safety and hygiene policies; Health education and training on aspects of the management of health and safety measures is offered to all levels of staff, therefore contributing to their effective employment; Ensure a clean & safe working environment is maintained; Undertake other duties as requested by line manager or the Company Directors. This role would suit someone with Occupational Health experience, who is also a Registered Nurse.
