Occupational Health Specialist Lead Nurse (CAVUHB & CTMUHB)

Working with the Head/Deputy Head of OH for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CAV HB) and Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) to manage, organise and develop the provision of an efficient, effective and professional Occupational Health (OH) Service and be involved in all aspects of its service delivery to promote and maintain a high degree of physical, mental and social well-being for all employees. Main duties of the job

Work with the Head/Deputy Head of OH to develop and implement a collaborative working model across CAV HB and CTMUHB Occupational Health Services. Provide quality healthcare to employees by advising staff and management on the protection of employees against physical or environmental health hazards. Line manage a group of Occupational Health nurses and Physiotherapists while holding a small clinical caseload. Lead and influence the development and implementation of organisation and departmental policies and procedures. Provide professional nursing leadership, direction, and advice for the OH clinical activity. About us

Qualifications and/or Knowledge

Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional with current, live Professional Registration Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Occupational Health) Degree or equivalent Diploma Master's Degree or equivalent demonstrable experience Management training/leadership course Relevant clinical and management experience Demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and expertise in the specialty Knowledge of key professional issues and NMC guidelines Knowledge of relevant guidance, legislation, and evidence-based practice Knowledge of strategic, political, and social initiatives impacting service delivery Highly developed specialist knowledge of current developments and service improvement Possess a relevant H&S qualification or be prepared to obtain it within 6 months Member of specialist interest groups and networks locally and nationally Research activity that has led to publication Experience

Experience in an Occupational Health setting NHS Occupational Health experience Experience leading multidisciplinary teams Understanding of workforce and management information Proven experience of creating opportunities through partnership working Experience of budgetary management Experience of dealing positively with organisational politics Advanced skills in research and audit Experience of leading a MDT case management model Aptitude and Abilities

Excellent communication skills Excellent influencing skills Effective organisational skills Ability to work independently and solve complex problems Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Ability to deal with complex, sensitive situations Good IT and keyboard skills Ability to remain calm in stressful situations Ability to handle verbal and written aggression professionally Basic Welsh language conversational skills (Level 1) or willingness to work towards this level Personal Qualities
