Job overview Are you an experienced occupational therapist, with a passion for working with people who are experiencing acute mental illness, within an inpatient setting? Would you like to be part of an innovative model of care, which places therapy at its core? Therapeutic staffing promotes person-centred care by focusing on recovery, through the provision of multidisciplinary team-working to increase psychological approaches and therapeutic activity. Occupational therapists are recognised as essential, core members of the multi-disciplinary team and are in the forefront of developing recovery and therapeutic interventions.

Main duties of the job You will be responsible for providing occupational therapy assessments, treatment and advice and will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic and creative environment. You will work closely with the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist and Ward Manager to implement and provide a therapeutic programme that supports the use of activity to aid recovery and enables timely and sustained discharge. You will have responsibility for a small team of multi-professional staff, providing supervision, support and leadership on a regular basis. You will also support the ward activity and shift leadership, as well as undertake shared team tasks that support the overall needs of service users.

Previous relevant experience and relevant qualification.

Essential criteria 3 years experience HCPC registration Experience of working with people experiencing mental health and learning disabilities Desirable criteria Special interest Previous inpatient experience Member of BAOT
