Job Purpose:
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will: Provide expert care in areas such as rehabilitation, community intervention, or reablement. Manage a defined caseload across community and hospital settings. Conduct assessments, develop, and evaluate care plans tailored to individual needs. Lead and support team development, training, and service improvement initiatives. Work creatively to address challenges and contribute to team management. Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Practice
Deliver high-quality care that promotes independence, wellbeing, and safety. Adjust care plans based on individual circumstances and preferences. Manage and transport therapy equipment safely. Maintain sensitive communication with service users and carers. Leadership and Supervision
Provide professional support to team members and students. Oversee caseloads, allocate tasks, and support team performance. Contribute to training, supervision, and appraisal processes. Service Development
Support policy development, audits, and service evaluations. Implement best practices and promote continuous improvement. Administrative Duties
Maintain accurate records and input data as required. Manage resources effectively, including stock and expenses. Person Specification:
Essential
Qualifications:
Degree in Occupational Therapy; HCPC registration. Experience:
Relevant post-qualification experience and expertise in disability assessments and interventions. Skills:
Strong leadership, caseload management, and teamwork abilities. Knowledge:
Familiarity with NHS frameworks, safeguarding practices, and data protection. Desirable
Postgraduate qualifications, leadership training, or professional memberships.
